Beautiful Silhouettes

Another market find has arrived here at The Picket Fence.  We were so excited when we came across this talented artist in Atlanta and couldn't wait to share her work with you.  These lithographed silhouettes were originally hand-cut and paired with a backing of antique documents.  Working out of her studio in Michigan, the artist hand assembles and signs each piece.

We've had these a little over a week now and the response has been amazing.  We're so glad you love them as much as we do!

Signs of Spring

A few signs of Spring to brighten your day.  This lovely yellow grouping greets you as you walk into the shop -

Add a touch of Spring to your decor with these buttery yellow candlesticks and planters.

Pitchers and urns, perfect for holding a Spring bouquet.

Despite a few glimpses of the sun between rain showers today, Mother Nature is definitely not cooperating outside.  Until she does, we can at least pretend Spring has arrived.  Stop in for your fix of Spring today!

The 3/50 Project

Did you know that for every $100 spent in locally owned stores,
$68 returns to the community?  Spend that same amount in a national chain, and only $43 stays local.  Enter The 3/50 Project.  This is a cause near and dear to our hearts, not only because we are a local business, but also because we love to support other local businesses.  The idea is simple - pick 3 locally owned businesses, spend a total of $50 a month at those businesses and support local stores and help your local economy at the same time.  What's better than that?  Want more information?  Check it out here.

New Maruca

Our newest arrivals from Maruca are the perfect accessory to put a little Spring in your wardrobe.  We always look forward to seeing their new designs, and we both agree that this is our favorite collection yet!  Take a look -

In addition to purses, Maruca also has a variety of accessory pieces in coordinating fabrics.  We love the Bon Bon for its versatility- use it as a wallet, to store your phone or GPS, the possibilties are endless!

As always, these bags are all handmade in Boulder, CO.  The company even designs their own fabrics so you won't see their patterns on anything else.  Just another reason to love Maruca!

Market Finds

Last month we made a trip to the Atlanta gift market to see what was new and different in the gift and home decor world.  As soon as we arrived we hit the ground running - with three huge buildings and thousands of exhibitors we knew the four days we were spending there would not be enough time!  We walked and walked and walked searching for those unique items we know you love.  At the end of our adventure, we had placed several orders (including some for Christmas - yes, Christmas!) and came home with lots of great ideas.  The best part?  Those great new lines are finally starting to arrive at the store!

One of the first to arrive is this fabulous line of frames.  These wall and table frames are made in Florida and are available in a variety of sizes and colors.  Whether used individually or in a grouping, they are perfect for those special photographs and will be sure to make a statement.

More new merchandise will be arriving over the next few weeks.  Stay tuned for updates on the latest arrivals!
