Giving Thanks & Small Business Saturday

At this time of year when we gather with friends and family to count our blessings, we wanted to take a moment to give thanks for all our wonderful customers!  We are truly blessed to be able to do what we love everyday and it's all because of you.  So thank you for helping make The Picket Fence a success!  We hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

After the turkey has been eaten and you've hit the malls for Black Friday, remember to "shop small" on the fourth annual Small Business Saturday on November 30.  Created to promote small businesses during the holiday shopping season, Small Business Saturday is all about supporting your local community.  In that spirit, we'd like to use the day as an opportunity to give back.  This year we've partnered with INOVA Children's Hospital to collect books for children who may need their services.  Simply bring in or purchase new children's books on Small Business Saturday and for each book received we will donate $1 to INOVA.  To thank you for helping us pay it forward, everyone who makes a book donation will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to our store!

Whether you shop with us or another local small business, we hope you'll join us in shopping small on Saturday!

Holiday Open House

The Smell of Christmas

Yes, we know it's not even Halloween yet, but we believe it's never too early in the season for a little Frasier Fir!  One of our most popular holiday fragrance collections is back and already selling fast.

We're Turning 5!

Can you believe it's been five years since we first opened The Picket Fence?  The time has definitely flown by, but we are so excited to be celebrating our fifth birthday this weekend!  And while it may be our birthday, the presents are all for you!  Join us Friday, Sept 13 - Sunday, Sept 15 for goodies, giveaways and save 15% storewide!  Just our way of saying thank you for all the support you've shown us over the years.  It's because of our wonderful customers that we are able to celebrate this exciting milestone!  So thank you for helping to make our store a success - here's to five more years!

Put A Lid On It

After weeks of waiting, one of our most anticipated market finds has finally arrived!  When we came across these amazing silicone lids at market we knew we had to get them for the store.  Judging from the response we've had so far, it seems you all think they are as great as we do! 

Available in several styles and sizes, the lids are made of food grade silicone and will fit on any smooth-rimmed bowl or pot.  Simply placing the lid on the bowl creates an airtight seal to keep food fresh longer and seal in heat while cooking.

They are safe for use at high temperatures, including the stove and microwave, preventing stove-top splatters and allowing for quick cooking and reheating.

The reusable silicone is also a great eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap or aluminum foil.
