Small Business Saturday

Between braving the crowds on Black Friday and scouring the internet on Cyber Monday, show your support for local businesses on the second annual Small Business Saturday.  Make Saturday, November 26 a day to "shop small" and visit small businesses in your community (like us!).  We hope you can stop by to enjoy some cider and treats while browsing our latest holiday arrivals - and don't forget our complimentary gift-wrapping service to help make gift-giving even easier!  Not only do small businesses often offer items that are different than the big box stores, but shopping small has a tremendous impact on the local economy.  So pick some of your favorite local spots and pledge to "shop small" on Small Business Saturday!

Fair Trade Holiday

We were so excited when we discovered this line at market in January.  (Yes, we really do start shopping for the holidays in January!)  Not only are the products unique and handmade, they are also produced and distributed through fair trade.  Not familiar with fair trade?  Basically a fair trade company is one who works with artisans in developing countries providing fair wages and a safe working environment.  This allows the artisans to use their skills to create unique products while earning a sustainable income to support themselves and their families.

These fun stockings, pillows and ornaments caught our eye at market and we couldn't wait to share them with you.  We're sure you'll love the bright colors and whimsical designs as much as we do!

And just a reminder that we're celebrating the holiday season this weekend at our Holiday Open House!  Join us today through Sunday for goodies, gifts and giveaways while shopping our latest holiday arrivals.  Hope to see you soon!

Harvest and Holiday

If you've been in the store recently, you probably noticed we've been sneaking a little Christmas merchandise into the mix.  We realize it's a little early for some of you to even begin thinking about the holidays, but we also have many customers anxiously awaiting the arrival of our Christmas merchandise.  Don't worry - we love Fall and Thanksgiving as much as you do, so that merchandise won't be disappearing in favor of Christmas.  We try to keep a balance between the two in order to accommodate those customers who are still looking for Fall as well as those who are looking ahead to Christmas.

So here's a look at what is on the shelves at the moment.  And of course we have many more great items on the way...stay tuned!

Tricks and Treats

Did you know that Halloween is the one of the most popular holidays for decorating, second only to Christmas?  Whether you're just looking for little touches to add some spooky to your decor or planning to go all out this Halloween, we've got plenty of fun items to choose from.

One of our favorite new items - these fabulous silhouettes by Jan Blough.  We first introduced her products earlier this year and could hardly wait to bring out the Halloween designs.  The black images mounted on vintage papers are just perfect for Halloween.

It's hard to believe Halloween is only a couple weeks away.  Be sure to stop by soon to get your tricks and treats before the big day!
