Happy Thanksgiving and Shop Small!

As we stop to count our blessings this Thanksgiving holiday, we'd like to take a moment to say "Thank You!" to all our wonderful customers! We are so lucky that we get to do what we love everyday and it's all because of you. Thank you for helping us make The Picket Fence a success! We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Black Friday may kick off the holiday shopping season, but remember to "shop small" on the sixth annual Small Business Saturday, November 28. Created to help promote small businesses during the holidays, Small Business Saturday is all about supporting your community. In that spirit, we'd like to use the day as an opportunity to give back. This year we will be hosting a food drive for a local food pantry. Simply bring in any non-perishable food items on Saturday and help us assist local families in need. To thank you for helping us pay it forward, everyone who makes a donation will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to our store!

The Christmas Star From Afar

We're excited to announce that one of our favorite holiday items is back in stock! The Christmas Star From Afar was a big hit last year so we were happy to be able to restock for this holiday season!

The Christmas Star from Afar is an interactive Advent activity and a great way to share the true meaning of Christmas with your children.

The Christmas Star from Afar encourages children to go on a hunt for their Star, similar to that of the Wise Men. Everyday the Star is hidden and the children participate in a fun hide-and-seek game to locate it. Once they have found their Star they move all Three Wise Men to its location. On Christmas morning the Three Wise Men reach their final destination when the Star is found at the stable with the newborn baby Jesus.

The set includes a hardcover copy of "The Christmas Star from Afar," a wooden star, a wooden nativity scene that matches the artwork of the book and optional scripture to use throughout the month.

Interested in learning more about The Christmas Star from Afar? Give us a call (703-250-2671) to reserve a copy or stop by the store to check it out in person.

Start a new family tradition today!
